As Record Corn Harvest Continues, S. American Buyers in Kansas
Kansas Ag Connection - 10/27/2016

Export Exchange 2016 is wrapping up in Detroit, Mich., and overseas grain buyers from South America and Mexico are headed to Kansas to see U.S. grain production and the U.S. export system. With a record corn harvest just reaching export channels, a total of 19 Export Exchange trade teams sponsored by the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) are visiting corn states, offering a perfect opportunity for the more than 200 participating grain buyers to see the U.S. supply and quality.

Over the course of field tours in USGC member states, hosted by organizations like the Kansas Corn Commission, and the three-day conference in Detroit, these individuals have opportunities to directly do business and make connections to facilitate future sales.

Held every other year by the USGC and the Renewable Fuels Association, Export Exchange brings together international buyers with U.S. sellers of corn, sorghum, barley, distiller's dried grains with solubles (DDGS), corn gluten meal and corn gluten feed.

"We are excited to have a Grains Council Export Exchange trade team from South America visiting Kansas agribusinesses and corn farms on Friday and Saturday of this week," Kansas Corn Commission CEO Greg Krissek said.

The tour stops for the South American trade team are listed below.

- Friday morning: DeLong Company, Edgerton; and East Kansas Agri-Energy, Garnett

- Friday afternoon: Tiffany Cattle Company, Herington

- Saturday morning: Brzon Farms, Courtland

- Saturday afternoon: Bestifor Farms, Belleville
