Roberts, Stabenow Announce Hearings on USDA Nominees

U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Ranking Member Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., Wednesday announced the Committee will hold a hearing to consider the USDA nominations of Mindy
Brashears, Naomi Earp, and Scott Hutchins. Brashears, of Texas, was nominated to be under secretary of agriculture for food safety. Earp, of Maryland, was nominated to be assistant secretary of agriculture for civil rights. Hutchins, of Indiana, has been
nominated to be under secretary of agiculture for research, education, and economics.
The hearing for the three nominees will be held Nov. 28 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in 328A Russell Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C.
The hearing will be webcast live on ag.senate.gov.
