State Winter Wheat and Canola Seedings Up

Winter wheat seeded area for 2018 is estimated at 7.80 million acres, up from last year's seeded area of 7.60 million acres, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Canola seeded area is estimated at 60,000 acres, up from last year's seeded area of 50,000 acres.
U.S. winter wheat planted area for harvest in 2018 is estimated at 32.6 million acres, down less than 1 percent from 2017 and down 10 percent from 2016. This represents the second lowest United States acreage on record. Seedings, which began in early
September, remained behind the 5-year average seeding pace through early November when seeding was mostly complete.
